AU:SUM

" The AU:SUM program is a brilliant way to teach children with ASD social skills by stealth!

The whole team at Rosie’s School of Rock are so accommodating, they clearly value individuality and their experience teaching young people with ASD is evidenced through the engagement of each of the five band members. The fact that Rosie has built this program in consultation with a range of parents, ASPECT staff and feedback from individuals with ASD that he and his team have worked with over the years is a major factor in the success of this innovative program.

The Program:
The program’s name borrows AU from AUTISM and SUM meaning the combination of two or more elements; this is to reinforce the objective of AU:SUMas a program which aims to improve Social skills for your child with ASD.

Over the course of a 10 Week Term your Kid will form a Band and then Write, Record and Perform his or her Very Own Song. This all happens within the band or “group” situation.

How it Works:
No previous Musical Experience required .

During AU:SUM your child will each week will be mentored through a group activity specifically designed to create interaction with fellow Band Members. Just as in a real Rock band your child will fulfil a role that is beneficial to the rest of the Band.

AU:SUM has been developed in consultation with ASPECT Australia.

Information for Students & Parents

The Details:

AU:SUM is a 10 Week Program
AU:SUM commences Week 1 of each School Term
AU:SUM happens each Thursday- Call for session times
AU:SUM is $300 for a 10 Week Term + bond & rego
AU:SUM is at Rosie’s School of Rock 2A Ravenshaw St.
AU:SUM students do not need their own instruments
AU:SUM is a 1hr Session (call for session start times)
AU:SUM requires no previous musical experience
